Hello humans.  I’m Miso and I am Chief of Pug Operations (CPO) at Peachy Keen Pets, and in the office with me are my senior sidekicks and roommates Luke and Leia. Since I’m the smartest one, that makes me the obvious leader, so I’m C3PO – Chief of 3 Pugs Operation (Yes, my mum, Niki, is a HUGE Star Wars fan and a vegetarian, as if it wasn’t already obvious by our names).  But I’m not just brilliant and witty; I’m also devilishly handsome too.  I’m a guy with beauty AND big brains (I’m also single, ladies), and that’s why I’m the CBO (Chief of Brain Operations) and CSM (Chief Super Model) as well.  I’ve been here since day one, helping with designs and new product innovation, and I’m the last original PKP spokes-dog.  Last year, we lost my brother and partner in crime, Hummus.  I miss him a lot, but I must carry the brand forward and onward with Mum and try to honor his memory.   One day when PKP is the #1 brand of dog gear in the world, when we take over the planet, I’ll make sure to have a giant mural of Hummus and I painted for everyone to see and bow down to.  A picture with me in the front though, after all I am the brains of this business (and the apartment as well).

I guess I should also talk about my Mum too, as she does all the labor at PKP – the sewing, the fabric sourcing, the tradeshows, the customer correspondence, etc. – you know all the stuff that a smart guy like me has no time for. I’m just far too busy making plans for world domination.  If I’m the brains of PKP, she’s the heart … and the thumbs (she has those things, and that helps with all the sewing and typing stuff … and food opening too …. I need to create some thumbs, then the fridge and its contents are all mine!!).  She started PKP to give herself a new, creative and fun career path, and she knew Hummus and I were very unhappy with the dog gear the stores had – So plain, difficult to size properly for our burly, manly bodies, and often made of synthetic fabrics that are not very nice on the skin and fur.  She really wanted to show the world that dog harnesses, collars, and leashes could be both fun and functional, and that every dog deserved better than blah.  With Hummus and I modeling, it was so easy to see she was right.

This is my mum, Niki. I'm the gorgeous one eating my greens on the right. Luke is in the middle and Leia is on the left.

My Mum is a smart, savvy, Canadian business lady, and given the amount of hours she spends sewing and the huge amount of cool fabric roles and piles in the office (which sometimes I like to sleep in when she’s not looking) she’s really made this small business a success story … with my expert help of course.  She is a pretty smart cookie – sometimes she even catches onto my schemes before I get a chance to complete them (sometimes she’s too smart for her own good!)!  I love my Mum though, she loves me and my roomies: she feeds us good stuff, gives us yummy treats, takes us for walks, dresses us in cool gear and custom made PKP hoodies, and snuggles with us A LOT. She also cares a lot about other animals too, and she often does fundraising stuff for dog rescues like Pugalug Pug Rescue, After the Track, Canadian Dachshund Rescue and Boston Terrier Rescue.   She’s good people – the best really.

During our board meeting the other day, over some very yummy veggies and dip, we talked about ways to spread the word about PKP.  You know, make that global domination I want … I mean ‘we’ want …. a reality.  We both felt that since I’m the brains and the master of eloquence and wit here, and I’ve been with the company since day #1, I should be the one to write a blog about the company and tell the world what’s new, what’s happening, and why we are so damn awesome.   Since I lack the aforementioned thumbs, I hired a ghostwriter to sit by my bowl chair and write down all my musings, plots, schemes, and the happenings of PKP.  Her name is Kim and she’s my personal assistant as much as my ghostwriter, and she’s got a PhD, which makes her almost as smart as me.  Almost, but not quite.  So, today we kick off my blog writing debut.  I’ve talked about myself, about Mum, and now I think some marketing is in order.

Your dog is your best friend and most loyal companion, but also a reflection of personality.  This is why you go together like peanut butter and jam, or chips and dip; something just clicks and it feels so right.  This is exactly why you shouldn’t settle for some plain, old, boring, generic, brown harness and leash or something everybody else has – be the unique dynamic duo you are! Whether you see yourselves as Batman and Robin, Mike and Sully, or the Dr. Who crew, be proud walking about town being who you are. It doesn’t matter if your companion is a dog, cat, ferret or pig  - we do custom orders.  And this gear isn’t all fun and games with no substance; it’s functional, strong and comfortable too.  For all things cute, comic book, sweet, kitschy, pinstripe, polka dot, sci-fi, geek, retro, zombie, and everything else in between, it’s gotta be Peachy Keen Pets!   You can see our goods by going HERE.

There, I think that went brilliantly.  Now I think a cookie and a nap are in order, and then I’ll attempt to see if Mum will feed me early …. I’ll see if I can trick her into thinking it’s 5pm when really it’s 3:30pm.

This is Kim, my trusty ghostwriter.
